Ithaca Police investigating death at business on West Seneca Street

The Ithaca Police Department is investigating the death of a person discovered in a bathroom at a business on Tuesday afternoon.
Ithaca (WSYR-TV) - The Ithaca Police Department is investigating the death of a person discovered in a bathroom at a business on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say they responded to a commercial business in the 200 block of West Seneca Street at about 1:56 p.m. and found a man in the bathroom.

The man was not breathing and did not have a pulse, officers said.

He was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.

Police describe the victim as:
  • 39-year-old Caucasian male
  • Hazel eyes
  • Brown hair
  • Thin build
  • Wearing blue jeans, a black vest and a red plaid shirt
Officials have not released the man’s identity, pending notification of family members.

Police say they are investigating the death, but do not believe it is the result of an intentional criminal act.
