Man charged with DWI after crash in Lysander

It happened around 9:00 p.m. Sunday on Route 370 in Lysander.
Lysander (WSYR-TV) - A Baldwinsville man is charged with driving while intoxicated after he rear-ended another vehicle on Route 370 in Lysander Sunday at 9:00 p.m.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office said 32-year-old Sean Scullion was driving his SUV east on Route 370 near Hicks Road when he hit the back of a car driven by a 19-year-old woman.

The force of the crash sent the car into the ditch of the south side of the road.

Scullion's SUV continued for another 30 yards before hitting several bushes on the north side of the roadway.

Deputies closed a portion of Route 370 while they investigated the collision.  The road has since been reopened.

The 19-year-old was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital by family members for treatment for minor injuries.

Scullion was not hurt.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were the only ones in their vehicles.

Scullion was charged with driving while intoxicated and imprudent speed.

Driving while intoxicated is an unclassified misdemeanor. Imprudent speed is a traffic infraction.

He was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lysander Court on January 15th, 2014.
