Nearly 30 years after Colleen Meadow’s killing in Syracuse, police have charged her estranged husband with murder.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Nearly 30 years after Colleen Meadow’s killing in Syracuse, police have charged her estranged husband with murder.

Syracuse Police and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ronald Meadow for murder in the second degree on Dec. 9.

The victim’s mother confirmed to NewsChannel 9 that Ronald Meadow is the estranged husband of Colleen Meadow, whose homicide in the city of Syracuse remains unsolved.

27-year-old Colleen Meadow was strangled to death in her apartment in the Rugby Square Complex in March of 1985.

Ronald Meadow had been questioned in connection to her death. Police never ruled him out as a suspect.

No one had been arrested in connection to the killing.

Syracuse Police say they have always considered the case open and active.

Local authorities have declined to comment on the case since the man was arrested.

A press conference with the District Attorney’s Office has been scheduled for Thursday morning, but they have not indicated whether the event is connected to the arrest.
