Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police say a Liverpool woman was driving drunk when she struck and killed a pedestrian on Park Street near the Destiny USA mall after midnight.

39-year-old Alicia Alampi of Surrey Lane was arraigned on Friday morning.

She pleaded not guilty to felonies including vehicular manslaughter in the second degree and leaving the scene of a fatal crash, as well as misdemeanors including driving while intoxicated.

Police say Alampi drove away after she struck 27-year-old Robert Bevard of Liverpool, but her license plate was still at the scene when emergency crews and officers arrived around 12:25 a.m.

They found Alampi and the Jeep Grand Cherokee she was allegedly driving at her home.

According to police, the damage to her vehicle indicated that it had struck a person.

Alampi's bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Dec. 18.
