DeWitt (WSYR-TV) - Drivers along Thompson Road were stunned to see a large vehicle inside the McDonald's near Carrier Circle on Sunday morning.

Crews were called to a report of a car into a building around 11:30 a.m.

Dewitt police say the 74-year old female driver pulled into a parking space, but hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. Her 2009 Ford Explorer SUV went over the curb and crashed through a window near a seating area.

Police say she doesn't appear to have injuries and nobody was sitting in the area where the crash occurred.

The East Syracuse Fire Department was in charge of removing the vehicle.  Town of DeWitt Codes Officer Andy Worden told police there doesn't appear to be any structural damage to the restaurant.

However, the restaurant will be closed for the remainder of Sunday as the glass is removed for repairs. The owner told police they would like to reopen tomorrow.

The health department has been notified of the crash.
