Military scam: The Real Deal

The Better Business Bureau is warning men and women in uniform about a scam that targets the military.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Better Business Bureau is warning men and women in uniform about a scam that targets the military.

According to the BBB, a website called “My Army Benefits” at USMilitaryBenefit.org is fake.

They say the site is designed to collect user names and passwords to soldiers' online services as well as email accounts.

Some soldiers are getting emails and text messages directing to them to these sites.

It appears the site has been taken down, but there are similar sites that use the same tactics.

Veterans are reminded to be wary of suspicious emails and texts and to remember official military websites will always contain the “.mil” domain name.
