Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - If you’re one of the millions who may be affected by the Target security breach, here is The Real Deal on scammers who may be trying to steal even more from you.

Target is warning customers about calls, texts and emails claiming to be from them stemming from the data breach.

Many of these callers say they need your personal information to offer you more protection.

If you have any suspicions or doubts - Target is advising you to refrain from giving out any information or clicking on any links and to contact Target directly.

To help customers - they've set up a section on their website that includes PDFs of all of the official communication the company has sent.

Call centers are also being staffed - you can reach the company at 866-852-8680.

The breach affected 40 million customers who made in store purchases between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15.

It was recently that pin numbers were also stolen.
