Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A NewsChannel 9 viewer recently received a call from someone claiming to represent Time Warner with an offer that sounded too good to be true.

“Torey” says the caller offered her a special rate of $24.99 for internet and then went on to say she could upgrade her speed for the next two years.

The caller also told “Torey” she would need to pay up front.

NewsChannel 9 contacted Time Warner representatives who said it’s a common case of fraud.

They warn customers to refrain from giving out personal information and to call the Time Warner Customer Care Center to report the call.
