When will the DOT replace the downed road sign along Military Circle? Your Stories

Question: When will the downed road sign along Military Circle be replaced?
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Question: When will the downed road sign along Military Circle be replaced?

Answer: The area is between the circle and the slip-ramp from the Lyncourt leg of Route 298 to Carrier Circle. The sign directs motorists to Route 298 toward Bridgeport.

It's been lying in a grassy area for more than a year now and it's even mowed around in the summertime.

The DOT says the sign was knocked down by a driver at the end of 2012 - beginning of 2013.

Right now, it is set to be replaced late this year. The DOT tells new regulations have caused delays in the process to replace larger, destination signs.

Because they're considered specialty signs, they require special contracts with suppliers and are not replaced as quickly as standard stop, yield and one way signs.
