Chicken wing joints in Central New York will once again battle it out at the 2nd annual Inner Harbor Wing Fest.
Rob O’Connor from Right Coast Productions said the two day festival was a hit last year, “people in Syracuse like wings and beer and bands.”
8,000 Central New Yorkers took part in the festival’s inaugural year. In anticipation of more wing lovers this year, organizers have expanded the space, added more entry gates, more tents and tons of seating.
Currently Saltine Warrior holds the crown of “Best Wings In Syracuse” winning last years competition with their honey, garlic jalapeon chicken wings. They’re back again defending the throne along with 9 other restaurants including Limp Lizard, Shifty’s, Big Awesome BBQ, Dominicks, Jake’s Grub and Grog, Peppino’s Pizzeria, Pizza Man, Rosie’s Corner and Wings Over Syracuse.
A portion of the $5 admission goes to local charities Ronald McDonald House and Contac Community Services. Wings are $1 each, so you can sample a variety of flavors. There’s a great live band line up, a huge variety of craft beers and food trucks for those who are not into wings.
The 2nd Annual Inner Harbor Wing Fest is happening May 16th from 4pm to 11pm and May 17th from 11am to 11pm at the Syracuse Inner Harbor.
