JFK’s 100th Birthday

As Seen On

President John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 – meaning had he lived, he would have turned 100 years old this year.  JFK died at the age of 46 when he was assassinated in 1963 in Texas.

Local collector Dick Woodworth has several items of JFK memorabilia in his collection, including several campaign posters and a button from when JFK came to Syracuse in 1960.  Woodworth says while most of JFK’s campaign items where red, white and blue, the buttons used for the Syracuse rally were orange and blue, because at the time, the SU football team was reigning national champions.

Woodworth is retired, and spends his time traveling around the region showing his memorabilia off at nursing homes, schools, and other facilities.
