A five day celebration celebrating bagels at a local Illinois factory in 1986 has now evolved to become a one day national holiday and one local bagel shop is celebrating here in Central New York.
Bagelicious of Bayberry has been in business for the last 25 years with 22 varieties of bagels, and 14 varieties of cream cheese and all of their bagels and cream cheese made right on site. Co-owner Jennifer Woleslagle along with her business partner took over the business three years ago. Together they left cooperate America, opting for the bagel business, she said.
Bagelicious has a longstanding recipe that customers from all over Central New York have enjoyed, she said. Their one-of- a-kind bagels are hand-formed and oven-baked on a daily basis, then topped with the with the freshest ingredients, including local, right-from-the-farm eggs.
At Bagelicious, breakfast isn’t a meal, but rather, a state of mind, Jennifer said. That mentality is the reason why they serve breakfast all day, she adds.
They’re celebrating National Bagelfest Day with a sweet deal too. Any bagel with plain cream cheese is just $1 all day long today.
Bagelicous of Bayberry is located at 7608 Oswego Road in Liverpool. To learn more about their menu and even catering options, visit them online at bageliciousbagels.com.
