The Chinese tradition of lantern making is well-known in the United States and New York is joining the celebration by lighting the sky at the New York State Fairgrounds now through June.

Grace Zhou from Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc. joined Annette Peters from Advance Media New York to pull this event together and share the culture. Peters says they have received a fantastic response from the central New York Community. The festival is meant to educate and entertain on the Chinese culture. Over thirty displays of lanterns have been made in the shape of animals, Chinese culture symbols, and flowers.

The festival runs from 5pm to 10pm on weekdays and Sunday’s, and 5pm to 11pm on Friday’s and Saturday’s. Enter at Gate 6 from now until June 24th. Tickets are on sale at www.lanternfestnys.com.
