Fabulous fashions are about to be on display, as over 150 models take part in Syracuse Fashion Week 2019.
“This year we have three venues” says Executive Director Lisa Butler. “A brand new one, the Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor is our brand-new venue. It’s so cool there! I’m excited about that one. And then our regular show at Marissa’s Fortress of Beauty on Friday night and then the gala at the Landmark Theatre on Saturday night.”
In total, 35 designers and boutiques are participating in this year’s events, along with 30 hair and makeup artists who will be creating the variety of looks.
The first event is the Spring Fling on Thursday, April 11, starting at 7pm at the Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor, located at 310 West Kirkpatrick Street. It’s a runway style fashion show with a “Buy Local” theme featuring local clothing & jewelry boutiques & designers. Projex 215 in Armory Square is one of them, and owner John Massara joined us on the show to model a two-toned casual outfit including a floral print which Butler says “are really big this Spring for men.”
Among the local designers and boutiques showing of their styles at the Spring Fling:
Go For Broke
Sea Culture Brand
Kenn Kushner Designs
Friday night’s featured event is “The Underground Show” at Marissa’s Fortress of Beauty, located at 220 Walton Street in Armory Square. Starting at 9pm, the runway style fashion show is for those ages 21 and up, and features lingerie, club wear, accessories & jewelry from various decades. Designers include:
Salt City Burlesque
A Very Vintage

On Saturday, the Landmark Theatre plays host to the Fashion Week Gala, starting at 8pm. The runway style show features custom couture, street wear, bridal gowns & vintage inspired dresses. Among the local boutiques showing their designs include:

Proceeds from all the events benefit the Food Bank of Central New York. Since 2014, Syracuse Fashion Week has raised more than $10,000 which has provided 30,000 meals to those in need.
