For the 2nd year in a row the Salvation Army’s annual Turn-Around Jumpers Tournament is back at the Carrier Dome. It’s the tenth year for the popular three on three tournament. Syracuse University’s Men’s Basketball Assistant Coaches, Adrian Autry and Gerry McNamara are Honorary Chairs this year.
“We’re very familiar with the Salvation Army and all the different causes it can help. When you can bring people together from all over this community and support this great cause it’s an honor for us to be a part of,” McNamara said.
The Turn-Around Jumpers Tournament has corporate, youth and adult divisions allowing people of all age groups to compete. It’s played double elimination style in female and male divisions and covers all age levels.
Coach Autry provided his professional opinion on how to prepare for those planning on signing up, “First of all stretch, drink a lot of water and ease into it.”
The tournament has raised more than $400,000 over the last nine years to support men, women and children in the community. Every dollar raised stays in Syracuse and goes to the Salvation Army.
Turn-Around Jumpers is happening Saturday, June 8th at the Carrier Dome. It will also feature a dunk and 3-point shooting contest. Entry for the corporate division is $350 per team and youth and adult divisions are $150 per team. For more information visit sasyr.org.
