In support of National Breastfeeding week, St. Joseph’s health is working to educate, encourage and help new mothers and those who continue to breastfeed their children.
In the last 25 years, breastfeeding has grown more in popularity and acceptance helping moms better transition from home to work and even when caring for their child personally or in a public setting.
St. Joseph’s Hospital is continually working with moms and has been designated as the baby friendly hospital in Central New York. The designation was achieved in 2009 and means that the hospital is completely supportive of all mothers and the benefits that come from breastfeeding.
