Families across Central New York are invited to celebrate the end of the year and usher in an all new summer at this year’s LEON Festival.
The free family-friendly night is a popular end of year event and it’s also the unofficial halfway point to Christmas. This year’s theme celebrates simple acts of kindness and organizers invite everyone to “Bee Kind.”
In the spirit of the theme, Radio Legend Mimi Griswold, who also runs Queen V’s Bees will also be on hand for the festival. And new this year, kids are invited to sport their favorite cape and tiara for a fun run. And if running isn’t your thing, take on your favorite superhero or princess by showing up in costume and cheering others on.
The LEON Festival will also play host to some of Central New York’s most talented kids. The event will culminate with a fireworks display provided by Wegmans.
The 2019 LEON Festival is happening on Thursday, June 27th at Onondaga Lake Park. The event starts at 5pm and the fireworks close out the festival at 9:45pm. Admission is free and shuttle buses from Destiny USA will be available at the Solar Street Lots.
