Celebrate the Halloween season at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo!
They’re hosting their popular “Zoo Boo” event several weekends in October, and Zoo Director Ted Fox and Outreach Animal Manager Sarah Kohler encourage families to come – and wear their costumes to it.
Among the animals that kids can check out: a California King Snake who uses her scales to keep from sliding when she is climbing, and a Tarantula named Gretel, who is venomous but usually doesn’t harm humans.
“It’s kooky, not spooky” says Fox. “It’s meant to be effective for the littlest kids so they can have fun and not be scared through the whole thing.”
“Zoo Boo” will include trick-or-treat stations, games, cider and donuts, and much more. Tickets for the special event are $8 in addition to regular admission to the zoo.
Tickets can be purchased at the zoo on the day of the event, or in advance at SyracuseZooEvents.org.
