It’s been five years since local singer-songwriter Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers released his last full-length album. That album won a Sammy award. His new album “Live and Listening” comes out October 16th.
Rodgers and one of his band members, Wendy Ramsay, sometimes play as a duo or with a full band. Rodgers says that after a show in May, they realized that most of their songs that the were recording would make a great album and the rest is history.
The album has a lot of local connections to it. Rodgers says that three of the band members have an affiliation with Syracuse University. All the members met here and the album was recorded here.
“The Syracuse music community is very much part of this whole project,” he says. “It’s an acoustic band, but there really are a lot of instrumental colors. There’s songs that are more blues, there’s songs that are more folk, a little bit of soul, rock,” he adds.
Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers ‘Live and Listening’ release party kicks off on Wednesday, October 16th at 7pm at 443 Social Club and Lounge. To learn more visit 443SocialClub.com.
