National Adoption Day is a collective national effort to raise awareness of the more than 100,000 children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families. For nearly 16 years the national day has raised awareness and has helped approximately 40,000 children become adopted from foster care.
Onondaga County’s National Adoption Day Ceremony will take place on Friday November 18 at the Pirro Convention Center. Doors open at 8:30am and the ceremony starts at 9:30am with nearly 50 adoptions to follow. Several local agencies will be on hand with information about adoption and foster care options.
Anyone interested in the process is encouraged to attend the event. You can also find more information about adoption and foster care by calling (315) 435-3827 or by contacting your county’s department of child and family services. For more information visit giveyourlifeasmile.com
