Downtown Syracuse will be hopping with international jazz musicians, fine wines, food and fun for the annual Berkshire Bank Northeast Jazz and Wine Festival.

This year will feature three stages that will be providing continuous music all day. The main stage will be located in Clinton Square and there will be two tents with music as well. The World Beat tent will have multiethnic styles of jazz and the other tent, called the Mardi Gras tent, will be providing a swinging New Orleans style jazz.

A perfect pairing for jazz, concert-goers can sip and sample wine from many different wineries. “It provides a backdrop for America’s music, and it also makes Clinton Square a very cool place to go to sample wines from around the world,” said Larry Luttinger, executive director of CNY Jazz. This year wines featured will be from Northern Italy and Australia.

In Central New York, jazz has always been a popular tradition because of its strong presence and the popular jazz artists that have come from the upstate NY area. CNY Jazz strives to bring those artists back to help influence the younger generations.

The event is free to attend but if you’d like to reserve one of the best seats in the house, you can purchase one for $25. For a music schedule, parking information and more visit NEJazzWineFest.org
