Movie Guy Brian Miller offered two reviews this week, a recent blockbuster horror film, and a HBO documentary of a crime that made national headlines.
Miller first reviewed Get Out.The movie was written, co-produced, and directed by comedian Jordan Peele, but there is nothing funny about this film. The story revolves around the relationship between Chris and Rose, an inter-racial couple, and the inherent fears for when Chris meets her parents. With several twists and turns, this movie will have you on the edge of your seats. Miller gives this movie 4 out of 5 stars.
Next, Miller reviewed the new HBO documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest. Following the 2015 murder of Dee Dee Blancharde, the documentary follows the lives of Blancharde and her daughter, who was accused of killing her mother. However, her daughter, Gypsy Rose, reveals the truth behind her childhood and what led her to killing her mother. Miller says the facts of this insane story keep audiences captivated and that this documentary is not one to miss. He also gave this film 4 out of 5 stars.
