Orange Central 2019 Invites Alum And Community To Celebrate SU’s Legacy

Bridge Street

The SU Hill will be swarming with a record number of alumni and guests for Orange Central 2019. This year Syracuse University celebrates 150 years of history along with several special reunions.

“We’re doing a forty-fourth reunion because the number forty-four is such a big deal in Syracuse,” said Chris Velardi, director of the digital engagement and communications department at SU. The number 44 has been retired due to its connotation with many great players such as Jim Brown, Floyd Little, and Ernie Davis.

Over 3,000 previous students have registered to reconnect with old classmates and make new friends. The weekend will also feature culinary workshops and classroom demonstrations. The University will also be honoring outstanding alumni and cheering on the Orange in the homecoming football game against defending national champions Clemson Tigers.
