It is time to celebrate as Philanthropic Foodies is hosting their Seventh Annual Culinary Showcase in Central New York. Co-Founder Renee Duffy announces that Friends of Dorothy House and The Shamrock Animal Fund will be this year’s recipients.

The main goal for the event is to eat, drink, and give back to the two local nonprofit organizations. Friends of Dorothy House offers a home-based care to those with aids and terminal illnesses through recuperative or hospice care. They also have supportive housing and emergency assistance.

The Shamrock Animal Fund provides financial assistance for local animals that are in need of veterinary care who have owners with economic limitations. They also organize healthy pet clinics.

Culinary tasting stations will feature a variety of menu items prepared and served on-site by 18 chefs from the Syracuse area. The chefs will be Mark Bullis of Bull & Bear Roadhouse, Jason Jessmore, Deanna Germano, Mark Germano, and Anthony Donofrio from Chef4rent, Matt Riddett from The Empire Brewing Company, Eva Zaczynski of Eva’s European Sweets, and Mara Mercado from Humble Pie Co. and many more.

Tasting Stations will be paired with beverages provided by local businesses including, 1911 spirits, Brewery Ommegang, Buttonwood, Grove Winery, Crowne Plaza Library Lounge and more.

Philanthropic Foodies has been able to raise approximately $270,000 over the past six years with most of the proceeds going to the charity recipients. A minimum donation of $100 per person is requested.

A live and silent auction, wine toss, and entertainment provided by ‘Professional Victims’ (Ashley Cox and Shawn Sullivan) and local jazz soloist, Jimmy Cox. New this year, Guests can purchase a VIP experience which includes reserved seating, a dedicated server to assist with station samples, and a beverage package.
