Ronald McDonald House Christmas in July

Bridge Street

Christmas in July? The Ronald McDonald House is celebrating Christmas all month long with a donation drive, bringing together community members and businesses to benefit the families who stay at the house throughout the year.

Executive Director of the CNY Ronald McDonald House Beth Trunfio discusses how there has been a significant increase in the occupancy rate since opening the new accessible house. In 2016, more than 2,300 families stayed at the house for a cumulative 4,983 nights. These houses provide the convenience of comfortable rooms, home-cooked meals, and support to families whose children are seriously ill or injured in the Syracuse-area hospitals.

What exactly is this event? A month long donation drive that can be  done in person or online through Amazon Wish List. The Wish List includes various food and drinks, grocery store gift cards, children’s toys and clothing, office and kitchen supplies, and household items. All items must be new for the safety of the children staying at the house.

While the drive is month long, the Community Donation and Collection Day will take place Thursday, July 27th from 9:00AM – 6:00PM.
