Summer’s Hottest Swim Styles

Bridge Street

Summer is here and that means beach and pool season. Small Town Stylist Jackie Terribile is back with this season’s hottest swim styles.

One piece suits have been making a comeback over the past few years and many are hoping they are here to stay. The trick that makes them so trendy? Making it look modern and not frumpy. The more coverage, the bigger you look, but you can create an illusion of showing more skin while getting the same coverage. Side cutout pieces are in and making the pieces look modern. Off the shoulder or one shoulder pieces show a little more skin, especially the shoulders which makes the look sexier. Lace up details anywhere on the piece has the illusion of showing skin with also the additional coverage.

Not too crazy about a one piece? You can still get the support needed in a two piece. The trendy shelf bra/bralette top looks similar to a sports bra which gives the support and comfort needed.

A high waisted bikini gives more coverage in the stomach area. But beware: this look can add material to an area you want to minimize, so it may not work on every body type.

You can also incorporate the latest trends in your cover-up! Instead of the traditional cover-up, trying a cute one piece shortall or romper is cute as well. You may also want to consider a tee shirt and cute shorts instead of the classic cover-up.

Let’s not forget accessories! Don’t forget your big flop hat and summer’s most essential item: flip flops.
