Syracuse Children’s Theatre has been rehearsing for their show “Disney’s Peter Pan Jr.” since January and their hard work is about to come to life.
The shows current choreographer, Nikita Richards, played “Peter Pan” when the show was last performed in 2005.
Executive Director Todd Ellis says the show is magical with more than 40 speaking roles. The students involved in this production range from pre-k to 12th grade. Richards says it is important to make the kids feel comfortable around you and to make sure they are having fun.
Ellis says that even if kids do not want to be an actor, this program helps build their self esteem because of the audience’s feedback and it helps expand their personalities.
“Disney’s Peter Pan Jr.” will be performed at the Civic Center’s Carrier Theatre in Downtown Syracuse. There will be performances on May 12th and 19th at 7pm, May 13th and 20th at 2pm and 7pm and May 14th and 21st at 2pm.
Tickets for the show are available at SCTkids.com and at the door of each performance. They are $18.50 for students, $16.50 for those 55 and up, and children 3 to 12 are $10.
