Valentine’s Themed 5K to Raise Money & Awareness

Bridge Street

Valentine’s Day is a day to spread love and the national nonprofit organization, Community Options, is hosting its popular Valentine’s Day themed 5K called “Cupid’s Chase” right here in Syracuse. The 5K’s Executive Director, Cynthia Barnaby, joins Sistina and TeNesha to discuss how she and her team are raising money to help develop housing and employment for people with disabilities.

Raising money for this cause helps create an emotional and physical comfort for those with disabilities by housing them in safe communities independently or with families.

The Cupid’s Chase 5K is open to runners, joggers, walkers, and even wheelchairs and strollers. The race kicks off on Saturday at Onondaga Lake Park, beginning at 11:00am. There will be a $30 fee before race day and $40 day-of registration. To find out how you can help, visit to learn more or to register.
