Run through historic Tipperary Hill in spirit of the Irish holiday! The 14th annual Shamrock Run is a 4-mile course designed by The Neighborhood Association Race Committee with help from runners’ input. The run showcases the historic Tipp Hill neighborhood, bringing runners past landmarks like the green-on-top traffic light, it’s scenic parks, architecturally striking churches and popular pubs.
“We have 3,100 pre-registered. We expect 3,300 to run this year,” says Janice Mckenna, the president of the Tipperary Hill Neighborhood Association.
There will be parking allowed at Burnet Park, right near the golf course that can hold 700 cars. The Rosamond Gifford Zoo and the Arc of Onondaga are also providing parking for all of those participants.
The association is also encouraging runners who plan on attending the Shamrock Run to think about participating in The Mountain Goat Run. The hills will provide the perfect training.
Most importantly, this event is a fun and healthy way to start off your St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
The race starts Saturday, March 9th at Burnet Park. The main race will start at 10am with a 4-mile race starting at 11am. You can still pre-register for just $30, but only until this Friday, March 9th. On saturday you can register for the race for $40 or for the fun run for $5.
If you’ve registered already don’t forget to pickup your packet. You can pick it up March 7th from noon until 8pm at Fleet Feet in East Syracuse or on Friday, March 8th from 4pm to 8pm at the Burnet Park Rink.
