Annual House of Providence Dinner Recognizes Those Who Help Our Community

The annual House of Providence dinner is a night to honor those working hard in our community to make a difference. This year’s honorees are Father John Manno from Holy Family Church, Dennis Gleason who is a former board member of Catholic Charities and Todd and Amy Caputo for their organization, Give To Others.

“When we get together in our committee we talk about who’s out there in our community, who’s making a difference, what are they doing and then this is our chance to honor them, to thank them and also to bring the work that their doing to light so that people actually know what’s going on,” said Denise Headd, Catholic Charities chief development officer.

Give To Others is a platform for people or businesses to post items that they would like to donate and connects to charities or nonprofits to take those items. Give To Others has worked with Catholic Charities for over 14 years. “I love working with them and I’m very passionate about getting the word out about all of the people that they serve. They don’t turn anyone down. I don’t think people realize we come from a community that has a tremendous amount of need and Catholic Charities is amazing,” said Amy Caputo, founder of Give To Others. “I’m very honored, both my husband and I, but like I said it’s really about them and what they do.”

Catholic Charities helps over 20,000 people annually through programs in Onondaga County regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity or nationality.

The 34th annual House of Providence dinner is Wednesday, May 22nd at the Oncenter in Syracuse. Dinner starts at 5:30pm. Tickets are $195. To purchase them or learn more call 315-362-7527 or visit
