Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Tony Award Winning musical Cinderella is live on stage in Central New York. This particular national production features a full orchestra and jaw-dropping transformations.
The show’s leads Kaitlyn Mayse and Lukas James Miller star in the national tour as “Ella” and “Topher. The production and the updated story is a way for both actors to be part of a classic musical but to also teach children and audiences of all ages on the importance of kindness.
“It’s obviously very thrilling and exciting and exhilarating but also terrifying at times…. and I personally hope that what they’re seeing is learning to be kind and nice good people because that’s what we are and what’s getting us so far in this show,” Katiyln said. “…We’re teaching them a little bit of a lesson as well in kindness and hoping that somehow without being preachy about it, that we can shed some light on making a younger generation a bit kinder,” Lukas added.
The pumpkin, the glass slipper and the masked ball are all staples of the production that audience goers can enjoy and look forward to. And some of the musical’s most beloved songs are also back, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible” and “Ten Minutes Ago.”
