Lupus affects close to 1.5 million Americans, but is a little-known disease that can take up to 6 years to be diagnosed. “For some people it takes decades, some people never have an accurate diagnosis because lupus mirrors so many other diseases. It’s very elusive,” says Lupus Walk chair, Carol Cosgrove.
Lupus is tricky to diagnose, often misdiagnosed. No two Lupus warriors will display identical symptoms. It is more common than multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy, and AIDS combined.
