CAP was established in 1983 and has been providing information, assistance and support to families within the county since then. CAP works closely with a large number of community partners such as local churches, schools and community foundations both locally, and on the state and federal level too.
In 2017, they were able to help more than 100 families find affordable housing, and another 100 families find transportation, Antara said. Their work goes beyond families too. More than 300 infants, children and youth were helped that same year by way of mentoring and early childhood programs.
“We really try to figure out what are the needs in the community and try to address them and build that hope for the future,” Antara said. “…not just for today but how you can help yourself for the rest of your life.”
