Helio Health’s Run For Recovery

A non-profit organization with a mission to help those suffering from substance abuse at any stage invites you to lace up and ‘Run For Recovery.”

Helio Health is hosting their annual 5K race to help raise funds to be able to help those who need it during all stages of recovery.

“Substance use and mental health are progressive chronic diseases and they require ongoing care so we do everything from incoming, ongoing and outgoing care,” Development Director Ashlee Forshee said.

Helio serves more than 8,000 people annually with programs in nine counties throughout upstate New York. Their work is made possible in large part due to fundraising. They also believe that recovery should be a possibility for every person who reaches for it.

“We are an innovative healthcare organization. One of the things we focus on is breaking down barriers and trying to make it as easy as possible for people to get treatment,” Ashlee adds.

On Saturday, May 18th, Helio Health will host the Run for Recovery at Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards.

“The Run for Recovery raises funds and awareness for the Helio Heath Foundation which is really important because it supports the people and programs of Helio Health,” Ashlee adds.

Registration for the run starts at 9am and the kids half mile fun run kicks off at 9:30am. The 5K race starts at 10am followed by a post-race celebration and awards ceremony. To learn more about Helio Health and the work that they do visit Helio.Health.
