Nutritionist Kelly Springfield has some great summer solutions to stay healthy at various cookouts, right in time for Memorial Day weekend!
She started off with some beef sausages from Beef Chekhov packed with iron essential for a healthy diet. These sausages come in several varieties, with options including low fat, reduced fat and reduced sodium available.
A lesser-known power food Kelly vouches for are California prunes- the sweet fiber-packed fruits that in one serving of 4-5 prunes can provide as much as 5 grams of the recommended 35 grams of daily fiber intake recommended by the USDA.
Kelly also presented a brand-new product by Olivio called chocolate butter, the gluten and dairy-free alternative to butter for toast. It can be used in baked goods, and more.
Chocolate butter is made with no hydrogenated oils, and according to Kelly, the addition of fats to an already healthy diet can aid in absorption of vitamins A, D, E, and K for a healthier digestive system and body as a whole.
