Spring Fashion Trends are in the Store and your Closet

Community

It’s sunny outside and that means a new fashion season is upon us. It looks like autumnal colors like green, burnt orange and yellow are surprisingly trending this spring. This is one of the many abrupt turns fashion takes, but fashion expert Allison Harrison says you don’t have to go on a shopping spree to keep up with the latest trends.“You most likely have something in your closet that you can use to hit on anything that’s on trend right now. It’s not always about going out and buying something new,” Harrison said. “Then you can just hit the trends without feeling like you’re buying a new wardrobe every season.”

But Harrison is not telling you to strictly wear clothes from past seasons. She also emphasizes the power of accessories to keep your look up to date. “If you really want to hit a trend and you don’t necessarily want to buy a new outfit, get an accessory or something that will bring it into your outfit without getting everything new.”

This season is also seeing a stronger emphasis on length in your dresses. Harrison says dresses that go below the knee and above the ankle, otherwise known as “midi”, is a new trend. Animal prints have also burst back onto the scene.
