For the last five years, the SUNY Oswego Hockey Program will honor the legacy of one very special employee.
Mary Gosek worked at the college for 34 years. In 2017, she lost her battle to ovarian cancer but not before fighting for better detection and research. Her husband Ed Gosek, has played a role in the fundraising efforts from the beginning. As SUNY Oswego Men’s Hockey Coach, Ed has gathered his players each year for a special teal tournament.
Each person attending the event this year will receive a free teal t-shirt by local businesses. The event will continue to honor the mission of Hope For Heather as well as Mary’s own personal work fighting the disease, Ed said.
The Big Teal Game Benefit kicks off on Saturday, February 2nd when the SUNY Oswego Womens Team plays Buffallo State at 3pm. The Oswego Mens Hockey Team will follow with a game at 7pm at the Oswego State Campus Center Arena.
