(WSYR-TV) — He’s used to writing about big moments, now he recreates them. John Petrilli builds dioramas … miniature scenes from movies and pop-culture.
He shows them at the Syracuse Mini-Nationals, a small part of the largest car show in the Northeast, the Syracuse Nationals.
A year ago John took first place in the diorama competition at the Mini-Nationals with his version of Mel’s Diner from “American Graffiti,” George Lucas’ classic look back at the summer of 1962. He even got the scene autographed by Candy Clark, an actress from the film.
