Syracuse native Ruth Colvin had a 40-year-friendship with Barbara Bush– that friendship started with their shared interest in literacy.
For her work teaching reading around the world. Colvin got the Presidential Medal of Freedom from George W. Bush.
At the age of 101, Colvin isn’t slowing down– she’s teaching and playing golf, and will deliver the commencement address at Le Moyne College this year.
Carrie Lazarus sat down with Colvin, discussing her accomplishments and future projects.
