Bernie Sanders makes appearance in Syracuse Friday

News
Friday was a big night in central New York politics as a force in the Democratic Party threw his support behind a 24th Congressional candidate.

It was a big endorsement for Democratic Congressional candidate Eric Kingson.

Democratic Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders stopped in downtown Syracuse to show his support.

“Our view is that real change never takes place from the top on down, it is always from the bottom on up,” said Sanders.

Eric Kingson is running in a three-person race in next week’s Congressional Primary.

He’s running against fellow Democrats Colleen Deacon and Steve Williams.

Sanders says it’s Kingson’s progressive views that make him the best option.

“Eric is going to fight for a $15 minimum wage,” Sanders said.

The winner of next week’s Congressional Primary will face off against Republican incumbent John Katko this November.
