HAMILTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Colgate University is getting rid of federal loans from financial aid offers for current and incoming students beginning in the Fall of 2020.
This expanded aid was approved by the university’s board of trustees and can be applied to students whose total family annual income comes to $125,000 or less.
Students and families will still have the flexibility to take out their own loans if they need to.
The school estimates that 50% of all students will benefit from this new initiative.
