DeWitt Police: Credit card trail led to Fla. fugitive and missing elderly man

A woman wanted for allegedly taking advantage of an elderly or disabled person in Florida is in custody after she used a credit card in the DeWitt area.

In addition, an elderly man who was reported missing in Orange County, Fla. was found when they arrested Dianne Stevens at a residence in the 1200 block of James Street on Thursday afternoon.

According to DeWitt Police, they were alerted to Stevens after they were contacted by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday morning.

When they went to the residence, they also found the man – who was not connected with the Osceola County investigation.

He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and then transferred to the department of social services.

Stevens was arraigned, and is being held without bail.

She is awaiting an extradition hearing before she can be returned to Florida.

Police do not know what Stevens’ connection is with Central New York.
