SPCA Investigators are working to figure out who tied a dog to a tree in the Cortland County Town of Freetown.
The dog was found in a wooded area around 4:30 Thursday afternoon, not far from the 2900 block of Hoxie Gorge Freetown road.
A Good Samaritan passing-by, heard the dog barking and also noticed a red Dodge 15-hundred pickup truck with wide tires leaving the area. The dog is a brown and white boxer mix.
Had the dog not been found, SPCA Investigators say it likely would have died from exposure and starvation. Anyone with information on the dog is urged to call the Cortland County SPCA Law Enforcement Department at 607-753-9386.
