Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move through central New York between now and Thursday morning. Some of the storms will contain heavy downpours capable of producing flash flooding especially in low lying urban areas as well as along streams and creeks.
According to the National Weather Service, a Flash Flood Watch means the threat of flash flooding exists along rivers and creeks. If you are in the watch area you should monitor weather conditions closely and remember if you come across a flooded out road or walkway never try to cross it with your vehicle or by foot.
