Forcible touching arrest in Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca police have arrested a 20-year-old man for forcible touching.

Police have charged Evan Gottlieb with two counts of forcible touching after they say he was involved in an incident in the 200 block of Stewart Avenue on October 27.

During the initial phase of the investigation, officers learned Gottlieb forcibly touched two victims and fled the scene before police arrived.

Ithaca police, with the help of of Cornell University Police, stopped and identified Gottlieb on October 29 in the 400 block of College Avenue. Police say Gottlieb provided his information without incident and was free to go while the investigation continued.

After the investigation was complete, police determined that Gottlieb would be charged with two counts of forcible touching.

He is scheduled to appear at the City of Ithaca Court.
