The City of Syracuse Division of Code Enforcement announced today that the former Brennan Motors Building will be demolished beginning next Monday.

The demolition was ordered by the City of Syracuse due to severe deficiencies affecting all four structures on the property, as determined by the City’s Division of Code Enforcement and Department of Engineering following a fire in August, 2016.

The full cost of the demolition is being paid directly by the property owners.

Portions of East Water Street and Townsend Street will be closed intermittently to safely facilitate the demolition.

The full process is expected to last between two and three weeks, depending on weather.
