The group “Save 81” is releasing the State DOT’s draft environmental statement from 2016. They say it clearly outlines problems with the community grid replacement option.
Members of the coalition say it would create “unbearable traffic congestion and pollution.”
A New York State DOT spokesperson gave this statement to NewsChannel 9, saying the document Save 81 is citing is “obsolete”.
The document being touted today by Save81 is an outdated and obsolete draft that was sent to a federal agency for review and comment back in 2016. The official project DEIS has not yet been released and currently is in the process of being finalized by DOT.
