Newsmakers: What you need to know about the community grid

Future of 81

The State Department of Transportation this week released the long-awaited Preliminary Draft Design/Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Interstate 81 Viaduct Project.

It recommends tearing down the viaduct, redirecting through traffic onto the current Interstate 481, and using an improved “community grid” of existing Syracuse city streets to handle the remaining traffic.

This week on Newsmakers, Dan discusses the project with NewsChannel 9 reporters Jeff Kulikowsky and Andrew Donovan.
