SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Monday, the New York State Department of Transportation released a 1,500-page report favoring the community grid replacement option for Interstate-81.

The community grid option would not require any buildings to be demolished, according to the report.

Rebuilding the viaduct would have lost 24 buildings and the tunnel would have lost 17.
