Ineligible signatures doom Blackwell mayoral bid

News
Raymond Blackwell

Raymond Blackwell is out of the race for Syracuse mayor.

The Onondaga County Board of Elections ruled the Democrat ineligible on Tuesday after invalidating many of the signatures on his filing petition.

After the signatures were removed, Blackwell did not have the necessary number to run.

Candidates Joe Nicoletti and Juanita Perez-Williams both challenged Blackwell’s petition, along with those from Alfonso Davis and Marty Masterpole.

Davis and Masterpole have petition hearings later this week.
